Accountant Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and maintain financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations and company policies.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Assist in preparing tax returns and coordinate with external auditors during audits.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Previous experience in a multinational or global company.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements and reports.
  • Understanding of internal controls and risk management.
  • Knowledge of international accounting standards (IAS/IFRS).
